Google is now presenting the Official Gmail Themes.

“We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad, nature themes that change scenery over time, weather driven themes that can rain on your mailbox, and fun characters to keep you in good company,” mentions Gmail’s blog.

How do I move a blog between Google accounts with Adsense

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Most of the people create a blog with only one Google Account but then decide they’d like to move the blog to another Google. But what about the Adsense ID which associated with your First account. Now you can move your blog to different gmail account with Adsense & organize the things well.

  1. Sign in to Blogger with Account 1, which we’ll assume is the account containing the blog.
  2. Go to the Settings | Permissions tab.
  3. Click the Add Authors button and send an invitation to the owner of Account 2, the account to which you’d like to move the blog.

Prevent Boss From Snooping On Your Google Search

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

There are chances that someone is secretly spying on your Google search tracks for various reasons. For example, the employer may monitor your Google search habits to know if you are looking for jobs elsewhere while the local ISP may be collecting your Google queries with the purpose of selling that data to large analytics companies. You cannot prevent these people from watching you because Google appends the search queries to the URL without encryption. So when you type “Jobs New York” in the Google search box, it returns a search page with the URL google.com/search?q=jobs+new+york and that makes data collection fairly simple.

There’s however a workaround - just use Google with a mask that comes indirectly from Google itself.

The following 10 websites are all hosted on the same server as Google.com and they are exact replicas of the main Google website - you cannot find a single difference unless you look at your browser address bar.

And the URL names of these websites (”ABN Amro Bank Group”, “I Love Your Robin”, “United American Fund”, etc) sound fairly ambiguous so your boss (or local ISP) will never feel that they you are doing a search on Google.com.

1. www.americanlandmarkfence.com
2. www.unitedamericanfund.com
3. www.earningspace.com
4. www.jeanoffer.com
5. www.factualearn.com
6. www.abnamrobankgroup.net
7. www.glisteningwhitesmile.com
8. www.iloveyourobin.com
9. www.nuzrinmira.com
10. msm.byu.edu

They also let you search all Google sites like Google Images, Finances, News, Google Groups, etc.

Make any one of these sites as the default search provider in your web browser and toolbars and your Google searches will be secure again from voyeurs.

Google Official Blog Deleted March 27 2006

Friday, March 3rd, 2006

Back in April 2004, Google launched their blog at googleblog.blogspot.com. But somehow, in the past few hours, that blog has been completely deleted from the Blogger servers, and users are instead seeing a “Not Found. The requested URL was not found on this server. Please visit the Blogger homepage or the Blogger Knowledge Base for further assistance.”

When tempted with a vacant blogspot URL with a PR9, one blogger did what many are probably very envious of… register the googleblog.blogspot.com blog URL.

Now, those who have the official Google Blog on their RSS feeds, saw an entry pop up a few minutes ago with:

Google, fix your blog pleeasssee! <3>(P.S. Just to clear things up, I’m not associated with Google at all. I just wanted to take advantage of this before someone else with less worthy intentions did. The username was giving a 404, so I tried registering a new blog with it. Surprisingly, it worked. Oh, and no posting URLs in the comments or else they’ll be deleted.)
